As Season 3 approaches, Metal Slug is set to receive a major update! The updated Abyssal Cruise and Abyssal Rift are bringing new challenges for you! So, what are the game mode updates exactly? Let's find out together! Here we go!
Abyssal Cruise

New Mechanism
Rumor has it, the Morden Army is scattered across various islands in the Endless Ocean. Facing this information, the Regular Army decides to strike, aiming to annihilate the Morden Army in one fell swoop. However, they encounter extreme weather during the assault, which forces them to slow down.
In the new Abyssal Cruise, the weather system will be your new obstacle. Due to the abnormal island weather, adjustments to your lineup are necessary to use skills to avoid being stunned and losing HP during extreme weather conditions.
New Styles
To counter the extreme island weather, the Regular Army has developed new combat styles: Thunderclap and Storm Guardian!
Thunderclap Caesarenes: Gather weather energy to launch lightnings!\
As a DPS-type blessing, Thunderclap boasts terrifying DMG. Its specialty gives a chance to drop Energy Orbs when attacking, which then release lightning to damage surrounding enemies. As your blessings increase, so does your DMG output. It eventually allows thunder strikes to reach 1,000% DMG!
Moreover, in terms of expertise, Thunderclap's effects also focus on enhancing DMG and ATS, maximizing your DPS after selection.
Storm Guardian Ishtar: Gather enough blessings for shields and healing protection!
As a functional partner, Storm Guardian's abilities mainly ensure your safety. Both the shield calculated based on a percentage of HP and the steadfast effect triggered by fatal damage can greatly improve your survivability.
Additionally, it's a specialized expertise partner, offering conditional DMG reduction or healing, along with ATK buffs under certain conditions. That makes it an all-rounder partner in your navigation through the Lost Cruise!
These two partners will undoubtedly be a powerful aid in clearing the Abyssal Cruise!
Beyond the new partner styles, Abyssal Cruise also introduces a Daily Quiz event! Earn rewards by answering questions, and make your journey through the cruise even smoother!
Abyssal Rift

New Map
In addition to Abyssal Cruise, Abyssal Rift is also getting an upgrade! A brand new rift map, Sky City, is available. This rift ground floating in the air brings enhanced plot density and an optimized paving experience!
New Skill
In the new Abyssal Rift, not only is the map updated, but there's also a new skill, Climate Barrier! Use the barrier to perfectly defend against climate attacks and grant your squad significant enhancement effects.
To further improve the energy barrier, you can enhance the skill in the new Crystal Technology system. Not only does it provide a shield, but it also allows your squad to enter a dauntless charge state, increasing Rate of Fire and speeding up your progress.
New Feature
Besides the new map and skill, the Abyssal Rift mode has added a new feature, multi-layer territory. Now, when you occupy territories in Rift Ground, those level 6 and above can be captured by different players multiple times. If someone successfully occupies a multi-layer territory, the challenge difficulty of that territory significantly decreases. That would help subsequent commanders secure their footing more firmly!
Moreover, as your resources accumulate, Storm Ruins await, where, at certain Journey phases, depending on the week's Rift Crystal production, 4 different Clubs will be matched to enter Storm Ruins for a special resource contest. Defeat the boss within a limited time, compete on DMG dealt, and determine the ultimate winning Club!
Here's a reminder for you, Commander! When challenging different areas, you'll encounter various extreme climates. Remember to make good use of the Climate Barrier for protection!
